Description:
We are seeking a Chief Technologist in Information Technology for the SEC ISS Program. We are focused on solutions which support the business operations of the commission. Solutions include both enterprise infrastructure and mission critical applications.
General Experience:
This position is for an experienced professional who will be responsible for support of the program and proposal activities in advanced IT solutions around all aspects of infrastructure management for a SLA driven environment. This individual will play a key role in the development, coordination and implementation of systems, solutions and practices to support LM’s customers. Key areas include technical solution implementation, risk management, proposal support, technical reviews and assessments. Experience with enterprise applications to include best practices and lessons learned from actual deployments, is necessary. Individual may be involved supporting new or existing programs, or supporting new business proposals on a daily basis. Individual will act as an internal consultant and subject matter expert to Lockheed Martin.
This is a senior leadership position on the Securities and Exchange Commission Infrastructure Management Program. Responsibilities will include assisting in the evaluation, development, design, and implementation, and oversight of new and existing technical solutions. Responsibilities will also include business development and proposal leadership. Experience leading technical teams is necessary.
Specialized Experience:
The selected candidate will support the program in designing, implementing and integrating enterprise infrastructure. This position is focused on enterprise technologies. The candidate must be experienced in architecting, designing and implementing enterprise solutions for geographically distributed environments of 5,000-10,000 users (or more) with server environments of 300 –700 devices. Technologies will include Networks (Cisco), Firewalls, VPN, Servers (Unix, Microsoft), Core Applications (Exchange, AD, DNS, Desktop, Software Distribution/Patch, Asset Management, etc.), VoIP, SharePoint, Performance Management/Monitoring (HP Openview, Cisco Works, Tivoli), Service Management (Remedy), etc. Enterprise infrastructure design, implementation and integration background with experience in mission critical enterprise infrastructure is necessary.
Leadership experience should include Strategic Planning, Return on Investment, Trade Analysis, Problem solving, Requirements analysis, Concept development, Enterprise Systems Engineering. PMI/PMP certification or understanding is beneficial. Should have experience as the technical lead on large proposals and business development activities. Experience will include leading technical proposal teams, solution & concept of operations (conops) design, basis of estimate (BOE) for cost development.
The selected candidate will represent Lockheed Martin in relationships with our customer, partners, and suppliers (Microsoft, Cisco, SAP, Oracle, HP, IBM, EMC, Peoplesoft, etc.).
Key technologies include networks (LAN, MAN, WAN), servers (Wintel, Sun, Linux), VOIP, remote access, Messaging, database servers, etc.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 15 years management/operations/engineering experience
• Experience as a manager, project manager, and/or team lead for technical projects.
• Demonstrated background in systems engineering/technical solution development for large enterprise environments (5000+ users)
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft server technologies
• Demonstrated experience with major storage technologies
• Demonstrated project planning/management experience
• Knowledge of IT industry best practices and lessons learned in the candidates areas of expertise.
• Significant technical experience architecting, designing and implementing enterprise IT solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project
• Public speaking experience and experience presenting ideas/concepts.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal)
Desired Skills:
• Program management experience (deliverables, quality, skills/resources, subcontracts, financials, LRP).
• PMI/PMP certification or understanding.
• Recent government experience with knowledge of and/or direct recent experience with civilian government customers (example: IRS, NASA, HHS, Treasury, SSA, SEC, etc.).
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Information Technology related area or equivalent experience.
• Extensive training/coursework in IT related disciplines.
• Technical certifications (past or present) Examples include; CISCO CCNE/CCIE, Microsoft (MCA, MCM), SAP, Oracle, CISSP, ISM, Tivoli, Peoplesoft.
• Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM, C&A, CMMI, SOA, Requirements Analysis, COBIT, Six Sigma or LM21
Education:
Appropriate degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
