The opportunity to secure the nation on highly visible effort supporting national security through system customization, user support, software installation, upgrades, and system/software development.

Position Requirements:

The Senior Principal Systems Engineer provides Front Line Engineering/Tier 2 support for Front end tools.

Operational System Support- Provide support for front end systems.   This includes monitoring and improving
monitoring of these systems; responding to and ensuring resolution of operational issues reported by site personnel,  24X7 Monitoring centers, Tier 1 support, dataflow groups, and end users; and providing feedback to development engineers on how to improve stability and supportability.    May also assist with installations, upgrades, and patches and ensure system is operating as expected after these actions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: 

•  Minimum fifteen (10) years in a technical role supporting complex and intensive system engineering projects
•  Minimum five (5) years experience as a System Engineer in programs that include system architecture, requirements
analysis, and process execution and evaluation
•  Experience with the following utilities and techniques to diagnose and correct performance issues:
    o Solaris
    o Linux 
    o Windows
•  Experience in designing complex collection systems
•  Experience in systems integration using multiple operating systems (e.g. Solaris, Linux, Windows 2000)
•  Experience in performing tradeoff studies and system performance analysis
•  Basic Understanding of Cisco IOS/Networks/Routing protocols
•  Strong communications skills
•  Experience supporting complex operational software systems including trouble shooting and problem solving
•  Willing to travel occasionally
•  Ability to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements.
•  Willing to be part of a team that provides after hours call-in support on a rotating basis and respond in a
timely manner
•  Willing to occasionally work non-standard hours
•  Working knowledge of LINUX (evidenced in work-history)
•  Experience with script writing

•  Experience in Agile methods
•  Experience with Remedy
•  Linux System Administration knowledge

Clearance Requirements:  Top Secret/SCI clearance w/Polygraph required [Note:  CAA clearance acceptable.]
