Technical Writer Subcontractor(s) Sought

Technical Writer Subcontractors will perform a variety of tasks. They must be flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a very fast paced environment on multiple tasks in an open Pod environment. The Pod is located in a windowless environment. They must be pro-active and creative when problem solving.

Required Qualifications:

1. Five years technical or scientific writing experience

2. A working knowledge of MS Office products

3. Experience working with templates

4. Experience and full understanding of SDLC work products including: manuals, SOPs, training aides, install and deployment documents

5. Experience creating SDLC work products from beginning to end

6. Ability to edit existing documents

7. Ability to work as a team member or independently as needed in a agile work environment

8. Ability to prioritize work, and work with all levels of management

Desired Qualifications:

1. Experience with a variety of writing styles.

2. Working knowledge of or experience with CMMI Levels 2 & 3 products, processes, and plans.

3. Experience with any / all: SharePoint; Caliber or other Requirements Tracking Tool; Mercury Quality Center or related tool; Snag-it; Visio, Robo Help or related product

4. Experience with or knowledge of the principles of the Plain Language and the ability to implement these principles

5. Knowledge and experience with style guides [AP Style guide; Chicago Manual of Style, Strunk and White, MLA, Microsoft Style Guide; Apple Style Guide; etc]

6. Graphics experience is a plus as is layout and design experience

7. Experience in a government contracting environment

8. Secret clearance preferred, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI + CI Polygraph clearance level.
