A-Space, an application that ManTech developed for the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Modeled after popular sites like Facebook and MySpace and often referred to as a "social network for spies," A-Space enables intelligence analysts to share information more freely, collaborate across agency lines, and connect in ways unseen to most. How You Will Support This Program: • Analyzes and studies complex system requirements. Designs software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manages their implementation. Manages software development and support using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and, when appropriate, computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools. Estimates software development costs and schedule. Reviews existing programs and assists in making refinements, reducing operating time, and improving current techniques. Supervises software configuration management. Analyzes functional business applications and design specifications for functional areas such as payroll, logistics and contracts. Develops block diagrams and logic flow charts. Translates detailed design into computer software. Tests, debugs, and refines the computer software to produce the required product. Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation. Enhances software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency. Provides technical direction to programmers as required ensuring program deadlines are met.
• The selected candidate will be responsible for developing Web 2.0 based applications and framework API’s for A-Space. We are looking for a innovative and driven candidate who will be responsible for research, design and development for web-based and framework-based software systems. The selected candidate will be consulting with hardware engineers and other staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, and the operations and performance requirements of the overall system. The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment with quick delivery deadlines. Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred. With a Bachelor’s Degree (in the fields described above); five to seven years general experience of which at least five years of specialized software development experience is required. With no degree; eleven to thirteen years of general development experience is required of which at least ten years must be specialized experience.
• Interested applicants must have at least 5-7 years of Java/application development/system engineering experience including strong knowledge of the techniques, tools, and complex Web Applications servers systems. Experience in a Web 2.0 Social computing environments is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with JAVA, XML, SOAP, Web 2.0 and one or more of the following technologies: JSP, JSF, ORACLE, ORACLE WEB CENTER, TOMCAT/ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER (OC4J), POSTGRES DATABASE, PL/SQL, AJAX, and JAVASCRIPT. Position requires:Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.
