When it comes to operating in the “cloud,” the federal government is just as driven as commercial businesses about exploring its potential in an effort to reduce costs, improve collaboration and deliver services in a more efficient way to core constituents.

With data center consolidation a strong element of 2011 government planning, cloud computing has become one of the most talked about issues for government agencies and government contractors.

The series is designed to be a free-flowing conversation, with experts fielding questions from attendees about the latest issues for the GovCon community. This is not a traditional Webinar, driven by data-filled PowerPoint slides, but an interactive discussion between executives and the audience.

During this Virtual Executive Roundtable, join speakers from industry-leading prime contractors as they explore the government’s drive to consolidate data centers, reduce expensive infrastructure, become more agile and share information with greater ease. Along the way, our panel will discuss topics such as:

  • Where is the government headed with cloud computing in 2011?
  • How are agencies planning to manage the drive for data center consolidation?
  • With budget dollars tight, what challenges and opportunities are there for government contractors?
  • What about security concerns associated with cloud computing? Are there specific federal guidelines?
  • Audience questions also will be taken prior to the event in the GovWin Q&A Forum, as well as during the Webinar.

Speakers:

  • Ted Brufke, US SaaS Sales Leader, IBM Collaboration , IBM
  • Jodi Kohut, Director, IT Practice Area, Eyak Technology
  • Chris Mankle, Vice President and CTO, ACS, A Xerox Company
  • Bill Perlowitz, Vice President, Advanced Technology, Apptis
  • Amy M. Rutt, President and CEO, Ciracom

JoAnn:

We had an issue with the first set of reminder e-mails that had the wrong webinar link in them. Were you able to get in after they sent out the second batch?

We will also be posting the recorded webinar later today; however, if you have any particular questions about cloud computing please feel free to let me know so that I can ensure they are answered.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
